Anti-DDoS Protection
DDoS protection for Canadian websites and APIs — edge filtering, WAF and CDN shielding, origin hardening, and uptime playbooks. Remote delivery across Canada and the US.
- • Edge DDoS Filtering (L3/L4/L7)
- • WAF Rules & Rate Limiting
- • CDN Caching & Origin Shield

Anti-DDoS protection for Canadian and US business websites, portals, and APIs — attack traffic gets filtered at the network edge, while your origin stays fast and reachable for real users. Engineers who operate your infrastructure configure the protection, not a call-center vendor.
A real DDoS defense works in layers. First the edge: CDN caching, WAF rules, and rate limiting absorb volumetric floods and slowloris-style layer-7 pressure before it ever touches your server. Then the origin: we close direct-to-IP access, restrict management ports, bound request queues, and make sure a wildcard day of traffic cannot take down the SAME path your customers use.
We regularly see the same costly mistakes — origins exposed next to a CDN (bypassing it is easy), rate limits tuned for an office of 10 instead of a launch, and no documented playbook for who is called when monitoring turns red on a Saturday. Deliverables fix those: exposure cleanup, tested rules, and a one-page incident playbook your people can actually follow.
Amen Security is a Winnipeg-based Canadian MSP. Protection is delivered and monitored remotely for clients across Canada and the United States — with the honest scope of a written SLA, not a fake "unlimited bandwidth guarantee".
Who this is a fit for
- E-commerce, expo and lead-gen sites that cannot lose hours of revenue during attacks
- APIs and customer portals behind mobile or desktop apps
- Teams hit by application-layer floods, credential-stuffing waves, or scraper storms
- Canadian and US businesses that want the same team to run origin and edge
What a typical protection engagement covers
- Edge review and CDN/WAF configuration aligned to your real traffic shape
- Origin exposure cleanup — direct-port access, caching gaps, unbounded endpoints
- Layer-7 rate limiting and managed challenge rules for suspicious bots
- Monitoring and alert thresholds, with an on-call escalation clarification
- A written incident playbook: detection, roles, and failover steps
- Post-incident traffic review so each event leaves controls stronger
How the engagement runs
- 1Assessment — current edge, origin exposure, and realistic threat profile
- 2Configuration — CDN/WAF rules, rate limits, origin hiding, done in reviews
- 3Stress test — controlled checks of the protection WITHOUT breaking real users
- 4Ongoing — monitoring, quarterly rule review, and playbook refresh

Frequently asked questions
Do you host our website to protect it?
No. We configure the CDN/WAF layer over your existing hosting and harden the origin. If you want us to host the site too (Canadian retention, or MSP-managed servers), that is a separate scoped option.
Will DDoS filtering block real users?
Rules are tuned on your real traffic shape in review with you, then verified with controlled tests before and after changes. Managed challenge is only applied to suspicious non-browser traffic.
What edge provider do you use?
We usually configure the edge you already have (Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, GCP Edge, etc.). If you have none, we scope and deploy one in the written proposal.
